Mark, Piano, Keyboard & Trumpet Tutor
Mark joins us with over 25 years experience of teaching music to students of all levels and ages. With an educational background including an MA in Film Composition from Bournemouth University, and a first class degree in Composition / Arranging and Piano from City of Leeds College of Music, Mark has a wide range of musical skills.
Mark brings varied experience to his tutoring starting as a trumpet player with the Huddersfield Youth Orchestra when young. He went on to win a Yorkshire TV composition and arranging prize, and take a role as the National Youth Jazz Orchestra composer.
Mark has taught in many schools over a 25 year career, including Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, where he was Piano and Keyboard Teacher, as well as Thomas’s London, Old Buckenham Hall Suffolk, Hurstpierpoint College and Great Walstead School in Sussex.
In his role as teacher, Mark has successfully prepared music scholars for prestigious schools such as Eton, Harrow, Uppingham, Oundle, Rugby, Ardingly, Hurst and Brighton College.

Everybody is musical and it is never too late to start your exciting journey of discovery. I enjoy facilitating a step by step process helping students nurture their creativity, confidence and knowledge of music. I have over 20 years experience directing choirs, orchestras and jazz bands which helps me guide pupils to see the bigger picture and encourage them further on their musical path.
