Discover & Be was founded in 2015 by Rhiannon Harman and Sheila Datoo, two experienced primary teachers. They now work with a team of expert academic and music education specialists, and you can find out about each member of the Discover & Be team by reading their profile below. Having had an extensive and varied career in both the commercial world and then education, Sheila now co-ordinates Discover & Be's academic tuition, drawing on her experience in both the the state and private sectors of education. With over 17 year's experience as a music teacher, Rhiannon puts her extensive skills and knowledge into practice as Discover & Be's Music Co-ordinator. Specialising in primary music teaching and performing arts, Rhiannon teaches flute, piano, ukulele, recorder and voice on a one-to-one basis, as well as song-writing. Jane is a highly experienced education specialist who has worked as a teacher, SENco, Designated Safeguarding Lead and Provision Lead in a variety of education provisions including KS1, 2, 3, 4 mainstream settings, pupil referral units, semi-secure units and specialist schools across the south-east of England, over the past 22 years. Music has always been an integral part of James’s working life; both professionally and socially. James is passionate about offering a fun, creative approach to teaching and learning and enjoys making lessons as bespoke as possible for each individual child. Read more about James’s background.
Caroline has many years of experience teaching French to pupils from two years old to adult. She is enthusiastic about sharing her love for languages with others and offers lessons which are fun and engaging.
