Adult Music and Academic Tuition

It’s Not Just for Kids!

Learning isn’t just for children and young people. We offer tuition in academic subjects, languages, music, arts and crafts to adult learners, whether you’re 18, 98 or anywhere in between.

Perhaps you need to take a GCSE for work or to gain entry to a course?

Maybe you’re off on holiday and would like to have a friendly conversation with a local?

Did you always mean to learn the guitar but life got in the way?

Or did you play the piano in your youth and now want to brush up on your dormant skill?

Whatever stage of learning you’re at, and whichever skill you want to improve, Discover & Be can help. Our lessons for adults are fun, interactive, inspiring and tailored to you and your aims.

Get in touch today to find out more about adult lessons as well as child and adult group lessons where parents and care givers can learn alongside their children.

I asked for a piano for my 40th birthday as I was desperate to learn something again and have something a bit more creative in my life. I also grew up with a piano in the house and wanted this for my son too, and to be able to inspire him to learn. I wanted to be able to play modern songs that I like to listen to rather than classical and for it to be a hobby rather than exams. As I learned as a child I foolishly thought it would all come flooding back! I started using some apps, but I felt like I was just tinkering round the edges so decided to start weekly lessons. It commits me to turning off the TV and doing some practice and I’m starting to make progress and my confidence is building so I know I’ll be able to download my own music soon and more easily give it a go. Rik is great and he’s flexible in his approach so adapts his teaching based on what I’m remembering, I don’t feel like I’m stuck going through a step by step in the basics but am getting a more solid foundation than I would do if I was just going solo. I’d definitely recommend lessons as a way to get back into music again after a long break!
