Olivia, Singing Tutor and Voice Coach
Olivia holds a BMus (Hons) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she studied voice. Olivia is passionate about helping children to find their voice and sing in the most free and natural way possible and believes that a fun and positive environment is the best way to achieve this. By encouraging students to get to know how their voice feels and build a positive relationship with it she helps them to sing confidently and trust in the sound that they make.
Olivia has experience teaching a range of ages: everything from delivering singing workshops to nursery school children to teaching GCSE students in secondary schools across the UK. She is happy to tailor lessons to fit the requirements of the student whether that be working towards exams or simply wanting to explore their voice and build confidence. She believes children should be exposed to all genres of music so they are able to find what they relate to and develop their own musical taste. Despite being a classically trained singer she also has an extensive pop repertoire and teaches a healthy technique that is suitable for all genres. She is also happy to teach adults!
As a performer Olivia has extensive experience singing opera, oratorio and musical theatre and knows what it takes to connect to an audience and deliver a convincing performance. She is also trained to teach Yoga and Mindfulness to children; skills she uses in her singing teaching where appropriate and promotes the idea that singing is beneficial for mental health.
