A cure for bored teenagers: lockdown your mixing skills this half term

Learn to DJ this half term with our resident DJ Greg. He’s a whizz on the decks and will get you or your child mixing, remixing and generally having fun with music in no time at all.

There’s no need for fancy specialist gear (yet, anyway!); Greg recommends the online software Traktor Pro 2 which can be downloaded for free on to a PC, laptop or iPad from the Native Instruments website. That means you can get started without having to pay for any kit at all. Download it here.

DJ Greg will, via Zoom, take you through how to use Traktor Pro 2. DJ Greg offers DJ lessons in a variety of formats, so you can have one lesson a day, or space them out throughout the week (and continue after half term if you wish). The options available are:

  • Single 60 minute 1-2-1 lesson

  • Block of 5 60 min 1-2-1 sessions OR

  • Block of 5 40 min 1-2-1 sessions plus a weekly 20 minute 'watch and learn' group session on Fridays (also posted on YouTube for those who can't make the live session)

  • Block of 10 60 min sessions

DJ Greg is flexible, experienced (you can read about his background here) and enthusiastic, and will get you or your child having fun with DJ skills before the week is out. To find out more, either email rhiannon@discoverandbe.com or call 07472 521161
