Who are we?
We are a well-established tuition agency that offers fully qualified and DBS checked English teachers. We specialise in tailored, friendly and creative English tuition.
Who do we teach?
We tutor children aged 4 years old and upwards to Key Stage 3 into GCSEs and beyond.
Where do we teach?
We teach in the comfort of each pupil’s own home, and operate broadly in the Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and Crowborough area of Sussex. Online lessons are also available.
When are English lessons available?
We offer tuition during the day for pupils who are home educated, as well as after school and at weekends for those at school during the week.
English lessons for Early Years, through Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, GCSE, A-level and beyond
In our bespoke literacy and English lessons, we develop skills, confidence and independence in reading, writing, phonics and GPS (grammar, punctuation, spelling), through the use of games, creative learning and fun resources. We love to utilise different spaces and enjoy outside learning too! Tutoring sessions can be focused on one particular area of English or on general English skills, depending on your child’s needs. We believe that securing phonetic knowledge is of the utmost importance in literacy; therefore we use phonics as the cornerstone of our literacy and English teaching, both in reading and writing.
Whether your child could do with a confidence boost in the lead up to SATs tests, needs help preparing for Common Entrance Exams, is looking for support in a particular area of the curriculum or would benefit from guidance in tackling weekly homework, we are here and happy to help!
We encourage you, the parent / carer, to be involved in the teaching and learning process wherever possible, so that you feel confident in supporting your child as they learn.
How do you assess my child’s needs?
We undertake an initial phone consultation to discuss what you are looking for and what you feel your child needs, and follow this up with a visit to your home so we can meet your child. We use games and conversation to allow the child to relax and share their thoughts about their education. Once they feel comfortable we use a reading test to give us a base line to begin from. We also give the child a chance to share what they feel they would like help with. This is a powerful tool for us to help them. The results of the reading test, any observations and our recommendations are all fed back to you, the parent, verbally as part of the 90min (approx) consultation.
