Geoff Wilcox, Guitar Tutor
Geoff has been teaching guitar for over 10 years meaning he has a wealth of experience teaching all ages and ability levels.
His main focus in lessons is to get the student to enjoy their time with the instrument and to relax into their playing. This leads to fun and enjoyable lessons that are mutually very productive and rewarding! Geoff also likes to ensure that technique is not overlooked, showing not just where to place the body to play but HOW as well. This helps gives his students the ability to play almost anything within their ability level and ensures faster progress in the future.
Geoff has many years experience as an individual needs assistant and teaching assistant in a variety of schools. He worked for several years at St John’s College (an independent specialist school in Brighton) where he helped students with learning disabilities express themselves through songwriting, playing instruments, recording and performing live. Geoff was particularly pleased to help a young person with social anxiety and mental health issues to perform two songs live on stage at the Concorde 2 in Brighton
Geoff is currently studying for a BA in Modern Music at Waterbear University in Brighton.
He enjoys teaching most styles of guitar (as he enjoys listening to them all!) but likes to focus on pop, punk, rock and blues.
